Apollon - International Interactive Educational Network

Introduction

The Apollon International Interactive Educational Network focuses in the establishment in the issue of the education of Gifted Talented students.

As a part of the development of this Network some sub-networks are under construction (giftedtalented.eu, classics.edu.gr, harmony.edu.gr) and a historical overview of Aploun (aploun.gr).

Several activities of the Network – Framework – Databank, as well as issues related to the appropriate support of Gifted Talented students’ educational needs and ways of improving their personal characteristics.

The basic principle in order to develop an international interactive communication network is through the use of universal languages. Music is the first universal language of communication. The emotion and this multidimensional discipline that is created by, are educational, cultural and multicultural and could be characterised as multidimensional semantic educational tools.

Apart from music, mathematics is the second universal language. The concepts of mathematics and mathematical skills can be used as an international communication language. Mathematics is also related in several ways to the knowledge communication systems and to the systems that organise information expressing decision-making processes.

Other subjects that are also discussed in this work are the following: explicit encoding of knowledge, qualitative understanding, starting from Basic Concepts, Machine learning techniques and Artificial Intelligence, design of reflective educational material, expanding mathematics, literature, art, selected issues from classical literature, issues from Art, etc.

The goal of the interactive simulation educational network is to communicate heuristic, sophisticated, creative and reflective mental models in supporting, educating and mentoring the Gifted Talented students and their teachers:

The Apollon IIEN has created communication workshops on the network, in order to reinforce the collaboration and interaction among teachers and others, concerning the efficiency of their educational work in supporting, mentoring and teaching of Gifted Talented students.

As a non-profit organisation the Apollon IIEN provides communication and cooperation with individuals and several organisations for supporting and mentoring Gifted Talented students, their teachers, parents and family.

The Network also provides access and services in Open Network for advanced studies and development of Pedagogical Reasoning.
